Great Social Media Idea: Firsts and Lasts

Happy Monday, friends!

I maybe dislocated my right pinky finger during my super high-impact adult kickball game on Sunday, so typing is proving a bit (aka a lot) difficult. So, I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

Check out this great "first and last" campaign from University of South Carolina:

Graduating seniors can get *very* nostalgic during their last few weeks of college, and what better way to tap into that nostalgia than by prompting them to share some of their memories with you! There really isn't a better time to collect this type of stuff... good luck trying to get this type of stuff once they don't live near campus anymore and are jaded alumni paying student loans.  :)

From what I can tell, they are doing this campaign entirely through Twitter - here are some examples of tweets soliciting submissions. (Be sure to click through to see the responses and search the hashtags for the photos.)

I'm not sure what's in store for all these pics, but I am excited to see what they end up doing with them. Might I be so bold and wonder if they will be doing something along the lines of the "senior look back" video I did for University of Portland last year?

Anyway, I love the idea, and it's the perfect time of year to tap into all that wonderful nostalgia. All you other #hesm folks out there, it's not too late! You can start collecting these types of memories too - all you need to do is ask. And create a hastag maybe.  :)
