Write for Social Media for Colleges!

Hello all you wonderful #hesm folks!

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about this blog and how it can both better serve the higher ed social media community and turn into something more sustainable for your intrepid (well... maybe more like lazy?) author. As long-time readers know, I am a bit of a boom-or-bust blogger, with more than a few long stretches without posts sandwiched between periods of regular posting.

Now that I've finished my grad school coursework I'm back into the swing of things, but with a wedding looming and launching my own little mini digital marketing consultancy (here's my website, in case you happen to need some help with social strategy or fundraising campaigns or anything like that), I foresee another barren stretch on the horizon.

So I thought I'd see if anyone out there might be interested in writing for this blog. I have never asked this before, because my insistence on keeping this blog ad-free runs counter to my strong belief in paying people for creative work. But I realized that maybe there are some folks out there who might be interested being a part of this quixotic little labor of love.

I am open to any and all ideas, and I would also invite people who might not be interested in being a regular contributor to send in an article describing the project(s) they are most proud of. Heck, if you've ever applied for a CASE award, you've already got a write-up pretty much ready to go!

I can't promise fame, glory, or riches, but I can say that this blog does have a pretty loyal following of people working in this very niche field of ours. It varies, but an average month in which I post regularly usually gets somewhere around 2,000-3,000 unique viewers - nearly all of whom work in higher ed marketing. Not a big number by *any* means, but if you want to get your name out there among peers and maybe make some connections for future job prospects down the road, this blog's readers are the right people for that.
