Great Social Media Idea: PokemonGO Video

Happy Thursday, dear readers!

Today's Great Social Media Idea (TM) comes from Wheaton College, where a wily mastodon named Tor got "caught" playing PokemonGO on campus:

It's wonderfully silly, and I love it! And considering PokemonGO is hot as a pistol and about to surpass Twitter in daily active users, it's great - and very popular - summer content. We'll see how long this craze lasts (I have my doubts), but in the meantime... gather ye rosebuds.

From Wheaton's Rebecca Larson:

We created a video last week of our mascot, Tor the Mastadon, playing PokemonGo on campus. It’s done very well so far, with a combination of over 11,800 views across FB/Insta/LinkedIn/Vimeo.
The post is pinned at the top of our FB page: https://www.facebook.com/wheatoncollege.il/
Or here on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BH44axfD4PR/

And in fact, those view numbers have increased quite a bit since Rebecca sent me those numbers, proving that all things PokemonGO have some staying power.

I know lots of other schools have done creative things with PokemonGO... share the things you've seen in the comments or on the #hesm hashtag on Twitter!
